Take Action on Levin-Coburn Report
To all members:Your help is needed!
Senators Carl Levin (D-MI) and Tom Coburn (R-OK) recently released their two-year long investigative report entitled the Levin-Coburn Report conducted under the Permanent Sub-Committee on Investigations. The bi-partisan report is a clear indictment of Wall Street and its contributions to risky practices. The report conclusively indicates that the economic crises were “man-made” and acknowledges the conflict of interest by big banks, mortgage companies, and credit rating agencies.
Further, the report makes 19 recommendations to curb Wall Street excesses and prevent another economic downturn.
What can you do?
Here’s the problem: The majority of the media went “ho-hum”, dismissed the findings, and reported little or nothing at all.
Please – write (email) your local and daily newspapers and demand (rather, ask) that they do a full report on the bipartisan Levin-Coburn report. The readers deserve no less. For more information, you can access the report in it's entirety along with updates on Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform one year later at: Levin.senate.gov .
I would be really interested in any replies you may receive.
Summary of Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act is important to review when reading the Levin-Coburn report . See attachment for reasons for recommendations to Dodd-Frank Act and brief summary of recommendations of Levin Coburn Report
